At a recent site meeting, James Hartford checked in with our carpenter about exterior finishes. Much of our design and coordination these days happens via advanced technology, which can be utilized on a job site as well as in the studio, but there’s always that time you need a quick hand sketch and the only drawing surface is an offcut.

Here, the carpenter sketched out the exterior materials layout for James’ review, aided perfectly by the grain of the wood to represent the topography.

This project is a fun one, and we can’t wait to share all the finished details.
